Step 1: Grapefruit Bombs
Peel two large pink grapefruit and cut into bite size pieces in AM.
Sit down and FORCE yourself to eat every single bite.
Repeat in PM.
Step 2: Hot, Tart & Spicy Tea
Pour boiling water into a tea pot and add tons of FRESHLY grated/chopped ginger, a sprinkle of cayenne pepper, a sprinkle of turmeric, FRESHLY squeezed grapefruit/orange or lemon segments, a chamomile tea bag, a cinnamon stick, and organic honey.
Steep for 5 minutes, then heat again until VERY HOT temperature.
DRINK the ENTIRE pot of tea while it is nice and hot. Don’t burn your tongue, but get your whole body nice and sweaty.
STEP 2: The 10 Second Cocktail (Before Work/Before Bed)
Dissolve an “Airborne” tablet in a large glass of water.
Add a sachet of “Emergen-C”
Stir with 1 T. Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar
Optional: one dropper full of Echinacea
Down it. DO IT! You don’t have to like it.
I once had a friend who claimed that her mother cured her cancer by doing nothing more than gorging herself with citrus fruits daily until she was healthy.
Now, I have no idea if this person was telling the truth, or if the story was blown out of proportion.
But ever since then, when I feel a hint of a tickle coming on in my chest, I blast it with GRAPEFRUIT BOMBS. I swear, it works for me!
When things get really serious, I also take “The 10 Second Cocktail” in the AM and PM.
If I have an important work event coming up and I must MAKE SURE I don’t get sick, I break out the Hot, Tart & Spicy Tea. It doesn’t exactly taste great. This tea is something like a mix of a “blow your head off hot” curry dinner and Auntie May’s Sweet Orange Tea. But the key here is to BLAST your blood and guts with spice, liquid, citrus, and all those good things people used to use before Big Pharma came to town.
If all else fails though, I end up dancing with Big Pharma. I figure life is a balance, and I like to keep waltzing.
There are all sorts of reasons these three Renata Remedies may work for me.
Sometimes, I think the simple act of taking time caring for myself with a little creative nurturing pumps the immune system right back into action.
Other times I imagine that the one true constant in all these remedies is liquid…and my body just needs a good flush!
And still yet, it could be that a little positive thinking is just what my alter ego, The Dreamy Doctor Diva ordered.
I’m feeling better already.
The art of medicine consists in amusing the patient while nature cures the disease.
