Nigella, Jamie, Gordon. These are all great British chefs, and all credit is due to them.
But there is less celebrated chef by the name of Sophie Grigson that I just love. She is real, down to earth, and loves to make you eat your greens, reds and oranges.
Sophie Grigson’s mother was the food columnist Jane Grigson, and her father was poet Geoffrey Grigson. Food and poetry. Why go any further?
Sophie’s “Feasts for a Fiver”, and “Eat Your Greens” are front and center on my kitchen bookshelf.
You can take a peek at Sophie’s cooking school. In her bio she states not her loves, but her anti-loves, which are almost as refreshing as her recipe for pumpkin stew. On the “About Us” section, Sophie’s bio states:
